Asseco Prokom did not have many troubles with AZS Koszalin and beat them in four games in the quarterfinal. Also Energa Czarni won with Polpharma in the first play-off round 3:1. This series will be very interesting, as both teams won on their courts in the regular season. The best player in the team from Gdynia in those games was Daniel Ewing, who shot 15 and 17 points. Also Jerel Blassingame played great - in one game he had a double-double, 15 points and 11 assists. Both teams have Bosnian centers - Ratko Varda will have to play against his national teammate - Ermin Jazvin.
Both teams have also young Lithuanian coaches. Who will be better in this series - Tomas Pacesas or Dainius Adomaitis? Will the team from Gdynia take advantage from their home court?
PGE Turów Zgorzelec needed five games and their own court to win with PBG Basket Poznań. Trefl lost one game in Sopot, but won the next two in Włocławek after overtimes and finally beat Anwil 3:1. In the regular season Trefl won in both games - Lorinza Harrington shot the key free throws in overtime in Zgorzelec. Paweł Kikowski was the most effective shooter in Trefl, scoring 21 and 16 points. Marko Brkić shot 17 and 16 for PGE Turów. The most important players in this series should be Filip Dylewicz, who recently is the Trefl’s leader and plays great, and Torey Thomas, who is one of the best players of Tauron Basket Liga.
