We are very happy to beat a team like Turow though, and we needed it after losing to 1 point games. The atmosphere was unbelievable yesterday, I think maybe the best of the year. There were times that I was trying to talk to someone right next to me and we could not hear each other. I hope that the fans will continue with that enthusiasm the rest of the year.
My trip home (very quick trip) was nice but I just feel that I did not have enough time to do everything I wanted. I must start by saying that if you have ever flown internationally from Europe to the States, those flights suck!! You’re cr&ed in the seat, and it seems like it takes forever. Plus, being in the middle of the day it makes it almost impossible to sleep. Before we left we had played against Jaroslaw and then made the 8 hour bus trip back so I was just sitting up in a seat for like 24 hours straight.
Once I got off the plane in Chicago though, I felt revived to be home though. My wife picked me up in Chicago (I had a 7 hour lay over) and we drove the three hours home. I was very thankful that she came and picked me up though, because she really did not want to. Driving from my house to the O'hare airport in Chicago you have to drive right through the city and traffic can be terrible, but there were no problems. While at home I tried to see as many of my friends, and family as possible. Because of the time difference, no matter what time I went to bed I was up at 5 in the morning and ready to go. Obviously my wife was not thrilled with this.
Overall though, it was nice to be home and to spend some time with my family who I get to see very little these days. Then it was time to get back on the plane and another international flight was a head of me.
The nice thing about getting back is you’re refreshed mentally and ready to go work hard again. We had some really good practices leading up to the game this week, I think mostly because guys got away from the game and had a chance to relax a little. I am enjoying this weather though here in Poland, everyone keeps telling me the winter is coming but I am not seeing it yet. That is ok with me, because I hate snow!!!!
I look forward to seeing another great atmosphere in Orbita on Saturday against Polpak. It will be another tough game. Everyone have a great week.
