Monday in play-offs: Surprise in Sopot

Śląsk Wrocław won with Trefl Sopot 86:78 on the road in the first round of the play-off stage of Tauron Basket Liga. In other games Anwil Włocławek beat PGE Turów Zgorzelec 76:72 and Asseco Prokom won for the second time with AZS Koszalin (103:79).

No one expected than Śląsk Wrocław will win in the first game in Sopot, but it happened. The team coached by Miodrag Rajković played great especially in the first half. After the first two quarters four of Śląsk players shot 10 or more points. Trefl tried to change the score in the second half, but they did not make it. The team from Wrocław was shooting better from distance and it was the key for success. Robert Skibniewski finished the game with 20 points and eight assists.

In the game Anwil Włocławek – PGE Turów Zgorzelec Corsley Edwards was the best player on the court, scoring 21 points. Konrad Wysocki had 18 points for PGE Turów.

Asseco Prokom Gdynia won a second game with AZS Koszalin and is closer to the semifinals. Jerel Blassingame had 24 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. J.J. Montgomery and Callistus Eziukwu shot 15 points for AZS.
