W pierwszym meczu wielkiego finału Tauron Basket Ligi Asseco Prokom Gdynia pokonał Trefl Sopot 89:81. Najlepszym zawodnikiem spotkania był Jerel Blassingame, który zdobył 18 punktów i 11 asyst. Mecz numer 2 tej serii już w środę 23 maja o godz. 18.30.

The defending champions won the first game of the finals series. Asseco Prokom in the second quarter was winning even 31:21 and after some minutes and Adam Hrycaniuk’ shot 36:23. Trefl tried to get back and they did it – they managed to get close to a three point loss. It didn’t impress the team coached by Andrzej Adamek, which won the first half by 11 points. In the next parts of the game, the hosts controlled the situation on the court and had a double digit advantage. At the half of the last quarter after Michael Kuebler’s three Asseco Prokom was winning 83:66. Trefl played ambitious but they had no chance with the well playing hosts. It was the first game after a longer break for Przemysław Zamojski, who recovered from injury and shot 8 points.

The best player of the game was Jerel Blassingame, who had 18 points and 11 assists. Donatas Motiejunas added 16 points and 13 rebounds to that. John Turek had 16 points and 12 rebounds for Trefl.
